When you have a home as beautiful as Victor’s parents do, you open it up to guests to celebrate his wedding to beautiful Minori! Enjoy a handful of my favorites from Victor and Minori’s big day.

Before I even met Victor and Minori I worked closely with Victor’s sister Maki to plan out their day… Since the bride and groom wed first in Japan before celebrating here in Pittsburgh with their American friends and family, my job for their crisp winter wedding day was to photograph the beautiful couple together in a variety of portraits, before covering their intimate wedding reception.
We started at Mellon Park in the walled garden area. It was clear Victor and Minori shared a deep connection, as I barely needed to direct their soft touches and happy glances at each other. Mellon Park is one of my favorite locations to photograph couples, especially at sunset! The walled garden area is elegant and ornate with detailed iron and stone and surrounded by a stately brick wall. Further down the park lawn lies another square, this one with more of a secret garden feel. Combined with the cobblestone street leading in and a variety of trees, Mellon Park has pretty much any vibe you want to incorporate into your wedding photos. These two were looking for a bit more formal vibe so we mainly kept to the walled garden area.
After a quick stop at the columns on Fifth Ave (CMU’s Mellon Building), we all headed to Victor’s family’s home to greet their guests and share a meal (provided by the Duquesne Club – DELICIOUS). It was a warm and celebratory vibe for the rest of the evening, with heartfelt toasts and lots of laughter- and a surprise birthday cake for Victor’s dad as well!
CONGRATULATIONS to this beautiful family!
