Shannon and Travis ::: a beautiful Bella Sera wedding! ::: Pittsburgh wedding photography

Remember Shannon and Travis from their relaxed engagement session on the North Side? …. I’m excited to share a handful of photos from their beautiful wedding with you! They married and celebrated at the very elegant Italian trattoria Bella Sera in Canonsburg, but started off first getting ready at the nearby Hilton Garden Inn…

How about a silhouette of the bride Shannon as she waits for her mom to lace her up? Gorgeous!

I also loved the way the window reflected itself into this scenic painting on the wall…

Down the hall, Travis readied himself as well.

Then it was time for the bride and groom’s First Look! Shannon and Travis chose to see each other before their ceremony, in a very intimate moment in the courtyard. That allowed us for a little more photo time in a much less stressful environment than trying to squeeze it in after their ceremony. They were so excited to see each other! Here’s one of many taken during the couple of minutes they shared alone together (and you’ve already seen another, in your sneak peek)…

Time for pictures!!

But first a quick shoe fix.;)HA!

LOVE this next one! I think it’s the contented expression on Travis’ face and the joy on Shannon’s.
I love the way that Shannon can always make Travis smile!

And vice versa, of course.;)

The courtyard wasn’t very large, and another bridal party was shooting behind me, but I had to grab this quick image (and risking getting in their pictures). I’d say it was worth it. Love.

I couldn’t get enough of these wispies. They’re just so romantic. Especially when you put a kissing bride and groom in there!

They are just so adorable!

Love this shoulder move. Hot!

A little bit of wind can really make a picture I’d say!

Image by Steve from a low vantage point. The flowers even match Shannon’s hot pink wedding colors!

Once inside we set up some off camera lighting while waiting for the bridal party. How hot is Shannon??

And of course elegantly beautiful

But you can’t keep a smile off her face for too long!:D

Quick shot of the attractive bridal party before heading to the ceremony!

Last minute prep work. How about all those mirrors!

Just a few images from the ceremony… I think if I didn’t narrow it to a couple, then I’d end up sharing them all! It was a beautiful ceremony.

It’s always so romantic when a groom gets emotional upon first sight of his bride walking down the aisle! Travis did not disappoint.

Congrats you two!

Travis and Shannon chose to cut their cake and dance their first dance before their sit down dinner. They chose to have an adorable (and delicious!) cupcake tower, and just cut the topper.

The toasts were incredibly touching. Shannon’s sister and MOH surprised her with a few words.

Time to eat, but first a newlywed kiss!

Shannon’s first dance with her dad…

And then the dancing begins!!

DJ Jack Millz did a great job keeping folks on the dance floor all night, mixing songs the whole time.

Enjoy a couple of dancing pics… This group was really enjoying themselves, and there are many many more for the bride and groom to enjoy!

And finally, a ring shot. Yes, I did eat those cookies. Yes, they were delicious.

Shannon and Travis, you guys are awesome! Thanks so much for welcoming me into your day! (and may I say, you had one of the best cookie tables ever!!)

Much thanks also goes out to Steve Dietz of Sharp Image Studios for his always stellar help!

The Sheerer Family! ~~ Pittsburgh Family Photographer

This photoshoot was a long time coming! Back in 2008 I donated a photoshoot and print to a silent auction… which the Sheerer family won! Unfortunately the Sheerer kids have very busy schedules… so trying to coordinate college vacations, different high school sports schedules, and work demands turned out to be a serious challenge. So we were finally able to squeeze in an hour this summer! I’d say it was worth the wait, because we had a lot of fun, and ended up with some very cool photos. Enjoy a handful of my favorites! All images were taken at the Pittsburgh Field Club in Fox Chapel…

First, meet the Sheerers: Johnny, Patrick, Molly, and Kelly. What a beautiful family!

I absolutely LOVED these columns and had to use them in a couple of photos…

And how perfect that there were exactly four rocking chairs sitting there? These kids had no problem making each other laugh…

Gotta love a little sun flare!

Mom wanted to get a shot in front of the flowers, but we had to avoid Kelly’s dress getting dirty… so here was our solution. I’d say they had some fun with it.:)

And then we maneuvered it a bit differently, so everyone was a bit more comfortable!;)

These guys were just loving the serious shots. And they really worked this one! A definite fave.
But they had no problem loosening up for some great candids like these!
Maybe a bit too much fun at times;)

Thanks guys for a fun shoot!

Friends and family of the Sheerer family can view all of the photos from the shoot here. Enjoy!!:)

Amanda and David: a Gateway Clipper wedding!!

Remember Amanda and David from their Lawrenceville engagement session? Well sending big congrats their way for their beautiful Gateway Clipper wedding this summer!!

They married and celebrated on the Princess, one of the ships in the Gateway Clipper fleet, such a unique venue for a wedding! The ceremony was out on the deck, with beautiful city views…

Inside was set up for the reception, with walls of windows overlooking the city. How about those iconic yellow bridges?:)

Groom David. Watching his bride come down the aisle. I love his mother-in-law’s expression looking on!

And of course David’s own parents were all proud smiles, too!

Bride Amanda. Love her dad’s expression here!

The ceremony was full of both laughter and tears. Officiant Larry Goyda of Meaningful Marriages did a beautiful job!

Beautiful blue skies!! Love that huppah!:)

Congrats, you two!!

Amanda had one of her bridesmaids get a shot of her celebrating with Heinz Field in the background… Love her expression from this angle, though!

Then we had a few minutes for photos before they were announced…

LOVE this next one!

As the boat passed under the bridge, we got a few of the couple sharing a quiet moment…

I just love David’s expression in this one! They always have a good time with the photoshoot, giggling amongst themselves. I just hang out and shoot away:)

Beautiful couple!!

Announced as husband and wife!! Love this one, with the reflection of their guests cheering on in the mirror…

The toasts were incredibly touching and very emotional.

And yes, quite amusing at times!:D

Amanda and David also shared a few words with each other

Talk about a great spot for a cookie table!:)

One of the things I love about having a second shooter is that he/she can be where I can’t. Like this shot, taken while I was covering the dancing. Sunset over the water! Adorable little kids! Beautiful image.
Meanwhile, action down on the dance floor with the bride and groom…

After I grabbed some great angles downstairs, I headed up to the balcony for a more unique shot. Love it!

Here you can see how the balcony added to the dance floor experience. Mother-son dance.

And later on, folks on the balcony sent bubbles over the railing for a truly romantic experience! Love it!

Bridal party takes over the dance floor!!!

Of course the Hora! I’ve never seen a bride so panic-stricken! Amanda’s expression is priceless!

Amanda commented that was even scarier than sky diving, which the couple did together just a few weeks before the wedding!

I’d say she enjoyed it after a while, though!:D

MOH led the conga line… with a cookie! Love it!:D

I made it outside for a few minutes at the end of the night. Boy was it relaxing out there! I love Pittsburgh.

Amanda and David, congratulations again and I wish you only the best in your marriage!!

Charissa, thanks again for all your help shooting on Amanda and David’s big day!

Sneak Peek: Shannon and Travis!

BIG congrats to the beautiful bride and groom on their big day!!!

Can’t wait to share the rest with you both!

Parker: Pittsburgh child photographer

You might recall Parker from his photoshoot last year… How adorable is this little guy?? Ok here are only a handful of Mark’s selections. (Yes I now rely on him to select which images to post… it’s just too hard to narrow them down!!!):D

I L.O.V.E. the mini-mohawk that his helmet gave him in these first couple of pics!

This next one is easily my favorite pic from the shoot… personality as always, Parker!;)

Beautiful.:)

(and he knows it!):)

Parker is a very opinionated young man who determined he would run the shoot his own way. Here’s mommy telling him what’s up…

(But of course he got his own way!) Here’s my second favorite shot from the session… good times with his toys!

(er… SOME of his toys);)

Gotta love that mischievous look in his eye! Parker decided partway through the session that he was going to crawl back and forth and back and forth and back and forth… maybe 30 times. It was like an aerobic game of peekaboo. Love it!

Time for the REAL game of peek-a-boo! Where’s Parker???

(Where could he be???)

THERE he is!!!!:D

Daddy came home as we headed outside for a few last shots. Parker was tiring of the camera by now so daddy decided to give him some love and perk him up.

There’s a smile!!

Parker and Stephanie, I had a wonderful time shooting with you both. I hope you enjoy the resulting images!!! You can see all of the images here. Enjoy!
