Lori and Matt: a North Side Engagement Session in Pittsburgh

Remember Lori and Matt’s sneak peek? These guys met up with me on a Saturday morning, hoping for some snow. We did manage to catch some flakes but mainly it was just overcast and COLD! I was impressed Matt made it for the whole session without a hat or gloves… though wait I believe he did borrow Lori’s gloves for a bit haha. In particular I love the banter that Lori and Matt shared, bringing on lots of giggles for the shoot. I guess that’s normal when you’re marrying your high school sweetheart of 10 yrs! I had a great time wandering around Pittsburgh’s north side and am looking forward to the big wedding day in April… though hopefully it’s warmer…..

Trish and Shane: E-session Downtown

Remember Trish and Shane’s sneak peek? Well I’m excited to share some more shots from their downtown Pittsburgh engagement session… we met up at the Convention Center downtown, warmed up in the Westin, then meandered along to PPG Place before wrapping and heading back to the car. These guys were seriously such troopers considering it was one of the coldest days of 2011- not to mention Trish’s birthday!! I really love the natural warmth this bride and groom have for each other, and maybe the cold temps were just a great reason for a good snuggle? ;)

Thanks to you both for braving the weather to spend some time with me and my camera! I’m sure back in the Nashville area you’re warmed up by now (and I’m thoroughly jealous haha)… looking forward to your big event this July at Soldier’s and Sailors!

It was probably one of the coldest days of 2011 when Trish and Shane met me in downtown Pittsburgh for their engagement session, but that didn’t stop this bride and groom from enjoying themselves… more pics to come soon! :D

Boy does the sun set early these days! I went for a walk on the North Side the other afternoon and got stranded a good mile from my car after dark! It was worth the nervous jog back, though, for a the handful of great images of the city I scored. I love me a pink and purple sunset.

Here’s one of the earlier shots from the afternoon… I used a few speedlights to highlight the foreground while I ran up a long exposure (on tripod, of course) for the ambient.

One of these days I’ll get back to blogging, I swear!

Back in the Office!

I hope everyone had a wonderfully relaxing Thanksgiving with your loved ones! I definitely ate waaaayy too much stuffing and pumpkin pie myself!

I am officially back in the office administratively. What does that mean? I am answering emails, meeting clients, and working on print orders. Not shooting professionally yet (I expect to be back on board for 1-2 hr shoots after the holidays!) but I’m here and ready to chat pictures with you. So feel free to give me a ring!

And since no post is complete without a photo, here’s a recent shot of my little guy getting ready for the holidays…

Out of Office: Maternity Leave

We’re happy to welcome the newest member of Pamela Marie Photography’s team, Enzo Robert! Enzo was born September 27, 2011 at 8 lbs 5 oz and 21.25 inches. We’re ecstatic to finally have him with us!

As you can imagine, this little guy is keeping us extremely busy (and sleep-deprived!)… and so as planned I have begun my official Maternity Leave. As my existing clients already know, I will available for emergencies only over the next month. After that we will ease into photoshoots again by the end of December timeframe. Any new inquiries will be responded to as soon as possible, but please understand there will be a delay from my usual response times and that I will not be available for in-person meetings until November.

We appreciate your patience over the next couple of months as we ease back into business as usual!

Jamie and Bill: CONGRATS!!!

I know I’ve been neglecting the blog a bit over the past few weeks and I do apologize! As my clients are well aware I will be leaving on maternity leave very shortly and am working diligently on wrapping up album designs, discs, and print orders until then. I’m happy to say we’re almost there-YAY!!

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to witness my friends Jamie and Bill tie the knot. At my suggestion they hired the talented Erica Hilliard to photograph their day and she did a wonderful job as always! I of course could not help but capture a few moments myself, being sure not to get in Erica’s way of course. (Not that I could get too active anyway at 8 months pregnant!) ;) Anyway I just thought I’d share one of my favorites…

Katie and Jon: Photobooth fun!!

You may recall that Pamela Marie Photography offers Party Booths for weddings and other formal events… well this weekend Katie and Jon chose to bring us on board for their wedding reception. We had a blast!!

Katie and Jon chose to provide props for their day, which guests of all ages had a great time playing with. The booth is entirely automatic and enclosed, so when you’re in there having a good time nobody can see you… until the pictures come out, of course.

Here are a handful of photobooth shots from Saturday night’s reception at the Pittsburgh Golf Club. Enjoy!

This one cracks me up… note the belt hook… Even the Pittsburgh Golf Club staff got in on the fun! Here we have our fabulous bride and groom, Katie and Jon…

And of course at the end of the night we had to take advantage of the booth ourselves …here’s DJ Andy Booth, a very pregnant me, and my partner Mark!

Parker and his family: Lifestyle Portraiture in Pittsburgh

I often get inquiries for child, infant, and family portraits… and the answer is Yes, I love doing family portraits! But I run the sessions in a much different style than your standard line-up-and-smile-at-the-camera shoots. Kids in particular dictate how the session goes- not the adults- and so we run with it. I shoot lifestyle family portraiture, capturing families doing what they do best: playing together! My clients pick an activity and I tag along and grab photos of them enjoying themselves together, in an artistic way of course.

Parker and his parents chose to romp in the park for their session. (Remember Parker from his photo session last year? Well he’s growing up so quickly!) Enjoy a handful of my favorites from the shoot…

Parker and his mommy have a game of kissing through the sliding glass door. We got a great shot of them doing so, but then I love this moment afterward even better! He’s getting such a kick out of his mom!
