I was so excited to photograph Trapper proposing to his girlfriend Caroline at PPG Plaza this weekend! It was no accident I was there- Trapper hired me to capture the moment for them, and I was so honored to be invited to witness such a special moment.

Hieu and Hieu’s Downtown Pittsburgh Engagement Session

This session was a bit of a challenge for me, because both the bride and groom have the same name! Directing sure is tough when you can’t easily specify who is who :/ …so here I present to you photos of Hieu boy and Hieu girl

Bill and Autumn’s Mellon Park E-Session

Bill and Autumn chose for their engagement session the only hour that it DIDN’T rain on this humid Sunday afternoon- what luck!! We shot at Mellon Park in Oakland, and took advantage of some of the nestled wooded area there to create our own secret garden.

Lori and Matt’s Duquesne Wedding

I hold a special place in my heart for Duquesne University (my almost-alma mater) so I was really looking forward to Lori and Matt’s ceremony at the Duquesne Chapel and party afterward at the Power Center Ballroom on campus. Besides, these guys are super cool and we had a great time at their engagement session in downtown Pittsburgh this winter, so I knew it would be a fun day. And it most definitely was! Despite the rain and a tight timeline, we managed to fit in some pictures of these newlyweds before heading off to the reception. And wow can these guys party- we even had a guest appearance from the Pitt Panther himself!!

Here are a handful of my favorite images of Matt and Lori’s story. I decided to upload here a lot more reception photos than usual, in order to best share the celebratory vibe of the day. Special thanks to the talented Alisa Innocenti for her help second shooting! Some of her images are included here as well.

This next one is Lori’s mom seeing the bride for the first time. Love these moments!

Then it was off to the chapel!

Father Valentine clearly knew Matt well and his homily was personal and fun.

This next one is a favorite for sure!

Since both rain and time limited our options for creative images after the ceremony, we took advantage of a well-lit doorway for some shots of the bride and groom.

Party time!!

LOVE this shot of Lori and her MOH blinking back tears when this courageous flower girl sang Skinamarinkidinkidink to the bride.

After the first dance and a couple of parent dances, this party was STARTED!

So does this guy look familiar? Best. Wedding guest. Ever.

DJ Eric had the bouquet-catcher give the thumbs up when the garter-catcher had earned the right to put on the garter. It didn’t take too long! 2nd II None Productions did a fantastic job keeping the dance floor full all night, and they were great emcees, too!

I don’t submit my clients’ weddings to online or print publications, because some people are just more private than others and I don’t want to assume they’d like it! But I DO welcome my clients to submit their own weddings, and I’m always willing to provide web-resolution images for their submissions. When Shayla requested images from Tonya and Kelton’s wedding last fall, I was happy to oblige.

So last year Tonya and Kelton’s wedding was featured in Munalichi Bride’s blog, submitted by their wedding planner, the fabulous Shayla Hawkins of SHE. And I’m just now getting around to blogging it LOL enjoy!

Learn to Dance!!

I’m always impressed when brides and grooms have smooth moves for their First Dance… So today when I saw this Groupon for dance lessons here in Pittsburgh, I thought you people deserve to take a look!

It’s for Arthur Murray Dance Studio here in Pittsburgh. A great deal!

Lori and Matt: a North Side Engagement Session in Pittsburgh

Remember Lori and Matt’s sneak peek? These guys met up with me on a Saturday morning, hoping for some snow. We did manage to catch some flakes but mainly it was just overcast and COLD! I was impressed Matt made it for the whole session without a hat or gloves… though wait I believe he did borrow Lori’s gloves for a bit haha. In particular I love the banter that Lori and Matt shared, bringing on lots of giggles for the shoot. I guess that’s normal when you’re marrying your high school sweetheart of 10 yrs! I had a great time wandering around Pittsburgh’s north side and am looking forward to the big wedding day in April… though hopefully it’s warmer…..
